How to Join the Austin Royals Christian Athletics (ARCA)
Joining ARCA is an exciting journey for student-athletes and their families! Below is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process and get plugged into our Christ-centered athletics community.
1. Check Eligibility
Before getting started, review our eligibility guidelines to ensure your student and family meet ARCA’s participation requirements. These include academic standards, homeschool status, and other key criteria outlined on our eligibility page. Please review the required documents that must be acknowledged and agreed to in order to become a member of Austin Royals Christian Athletics.
2. Sign Up for Austin Royals Updates
If your family is eligible, the next step is to stay in the loop! Sign up for Austin Royals email communications using the form at the bottom of this page. This ensures you’re notified about upcoming clinics, camps, and updates for the sport(s) your student is interested in.
3. Begin the Registration Process
Registration is your official entry point. It helps us know you're ready to participate and gets everything moving for the season ahead. ARCA registration is managed through an external platform called Game Source. Visit our Registration Page to begin.
4. Attend a Clinic or Camp (Optional but Encouraged)
The Austin Royals hosts sports clinics and camps to introduce families to our programs and help gauge interest in specific teams. These events are great opportunities to meet coaches, ask questions, develop skills, and connect with current ARCA families. Note: Not every sport offers clinics, and attending is not required before registration for the season.
5. Prepare for Tryouts
Preparation involves more than practicing drills. Make sure your student:
- Has a current sports physical,
- Completes all registration steps
- Completes the required online concussion training (once for junior high, once for high school).
6. Attend Tryouts
Once everything is in place, your student is ready to try out! Most tryouts span two days, and team placement decisions are typically shared within a week. All tryout details—including dates, locations, and times—will be sent via email. Currently, our volleyball, basketball, and soccer programs conduct cuts. All other sports place athletes who attend tryouts, although this may vary depending on the number of participants.
